Dear future delegates, future members of the secretariat and future participants to the 2017 International Careers Festival,
I am Alessio Mirra and I will be one of the two Under-Secretary General for the 8th edition of the RomeMUN together with my colleague and friend Jorge Alejandro Galicia.
My MUN experience started back in 2012 with the 3d RomeMUN edition, and since then I have attended many conferences worldwide, each of them giving to me unique and unforgettable experiences. Honestly, last year I decided to quit my MUN journey after the last RomeMUN edition, since I thought that walking out from the same path I started from would have been the right choice to do, and the progression of my professional and academic life progressively cuts more and more time to spend on things I love to do. However, everybody knows how these things work around here: you cannot simply “give up”, and so here I am, ready for this new and amazing adventure to start!
Following the words of our Secretary General, the idea this year is building up an amazing event on the belief that MUNs should teach something more than a negotiation know-how only useful to fill CV empty spots. We are committed in organizing a really unforgettable journey, both trying to provide you with a high qualitative experience for what regards the main professional skills expected to be gained while attending a Model United Nations, but also trying to filter all our passion, enthusiasm and values for what is a project we all believe in.
The organizing team is entirely and absolutely devoted to the planning of this event in its full capacity, and I can assure you that we will do the best of our best to provide you with an experience you will keep with you for the rest of your life. I am sure you will have a great time with all of us in the splendid venue of Rome, and I can’t really wait to welcome all of you in person.
Not exactly being a “quoting person”, the only thing I can tell you is: save up some fun, you’re going to need it a lot!
