Dear Participants,
It is with great honour that I welcome you to the third edition of the Rome Press Game! A unique chance to obtain a 360° insight into the world of journalism and communication. Radio broadcasting, news writing and reporting are just some of the things you will be able to experience thanks to this carefully designed simulation offered by the Giovani nel Mondo Association.

The Rome Press Game 2018 edition has evolved from the initial RomeMUN simulation (the first simulation based in Rome focused on the dynamics of the United Nations), first launched nine years ago and now becoming a project specifically catered for all those minds with a passion for languages, communication and interpretation.

Communication is one of the most important life skills you will need to master if you are planning on pursuing an international career, or any career for that matter. Therefore, it is essential to be able to experience first hand what it really means to be a part of this work sector in a multicultural environment. It is for this vital reason that each year the Rome Press Game hosts a variety of individuals coming from a never ending list of countries.

Currently we find ourselves living in a world characterised by the impact of growing media and technology developments. However, these developments do not always go hand in hand with the challenge of developing a successful information and communication network at a national or international level. One reason for this may be that there aren’t enough opportunities to gain those fundamental practical skills that far too often are not guaranteed in traditional learning systems. It is on this basis that the Giovani nel Mondo Association guarantees you the possibility to put in practice the knowledge you have gained during your academic life in an innovative learning environment.

During the four days in Italy’s magnificent capital you will be assigned challenging tasks which you will be expected to carry out individually or with your assigned team. No need to worry, it might seem though but you wont be alone! You will be fortunate enough to be guided by experts from around the world who will be there to assist you in everything you do.

As someone who has participated as a student, I personally know that you will treasure this experience for the rest of your life. This is not just a chance to broaden your professional experiences but it is also a fun and exciting chance to meet people from all over the globe, to speak in different languages and to create new interpersonal relationships. You will also be able to attend the International Careers Fair free of charge, where you can meet and speak with the representatives of a diverse range of universities, businesses and associations.

So what are you waiting for?
Start applying now and give your career a skyrocketing launch! I look forward in meeting such bright individuals and to welcome you to Rome in March.

Warm regards,
Shanthi Kodituwakku Hettiarachchilage
