news

Dear Participants,

It’s with great honour that I welcome you to the 11th edition of the Rome Press Game. This carefully designed simulation offered by the Giovani nel Mondo Association, has been thought to give all those passionate about journalism, communication, translation and interpretation, a chance to taste the work of some of the most important international news networks currently in action.

During the 4 days of the International Careers Festival in Italy’s magnificent Capital, participants of the Press Game will take on the role of reporters or language experts and will collaborate with the aim of sharing news regarding the conference. Each participant will be assigned to a team, which will be
expected to face challenging tasks: interviewing, radio broadcasting, web journalism and television reporting are just some of the activities you will all
experience. Right beside you will be a team of carefully selected experts who will guide you through it all and give you all the advice you need.

As you may know, it takes more than studying to become a good journalist. While a proper education is absolutely essential, to really stand out in the global information system you must acquire all the practical skills possible. The Rome Press Game has been thought to do just this and by adopting a learn by doing approach, this event will help you put in practice the knowledge you have gained during your academic life in an innovative learning and multicultural environment.
As someone who has participated as a student, I personally know that you will treasure this experience for the rest of your life. This is not just a chance to
broaden your professional expertise in journalism, translation or interpretation.
It is also a fun and exciting opportunity to meet people from all over the world and to create new interpersonal relationships that can last a lifetime. You will also be able to attend the International Careers Fair free of charge, where you will meet numerous representative of a diverse range of universities, businesses and associations.

I really look forward to meeting the participants of the Rome Press Game 2020 edition and to help you get one step close to achieving your dreams.

Warm regards,

Shanthi Kodituwakku Hettiarachchilage
