Rome Press Game

Preparation

PREPARATION

The simulation will engage students in 40 hours of pre-conference didactic preparation and 40 hours of simulation and practical work – for a total of 80 hours.

In order to provide students with a proper Festival experience, and to make sure everyone's experience is of a certain quality, the Association organises a pre-conference preparation regiment:

  • Access to online didactic material (Press Game guide, guide of the journalism tools, video tutorials);
  • Preparation webinars (4 meetings in the month of February 2020);
  • Access to the online forum to interact with tutors and other participants;
  • Support staff for drafting articles.

All the participants are followed and assisted both during the pre-event period and during the conference itself by young journalists, translators, press office experts as well as by a specialized team of technicians (including cameramen) who take care of the preparation and creation of media products together with the participants that have the opportunity to see the whole production process of a video, a newscast or how to build a radio podcast.

In order to celebrate the 11th edition of the International Careers Festival, GnM has also organized a week of live pre-event training to be held from April, 17th to 23rd at the beautiful Costa Diadema cruise ship. The pre-event week is optional. For those wishing to join all the information is available in this section.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND AWARDS and CERTIFICATES

The Rome Press Game is the press simulation with the most scholarships available for participants. 20 scholarhsips, either total or partial, will be awarded to the best candidates. The scholarship applications are done through www.internationalcareersfestival.org and the participants personal account.

Scholarship applicants will be judged according to their knowledge of the English language, their curriculum, and an essay written on the subject of international communication. The procedure and selection is done completely online.

In order to foster the professional growth of our participants, GnM awards its best participants with a range of international opportunities: stages or internships with media companies, collaborations with relevant international organisations, scholarships or professional growth within the association.

On the last day of the simulation, after the presentation of the final projects, there will be the closing ceremony and the handing out of awards to those participants who distinguished themselves during the Festival.

At the end of the event, the GnM Association will give out certificates of participation to all those who take part in one of our projects. These certificates attest to the number of hours of study and work, both before and during the simulation.
